Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the shrimp. Make sure they are peeled and deveined. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Allow it to get bubbly but not brown.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté it for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, stirring to combine well with the garlic and butter. Let the spices cook for about 30 seconds.
  • Carefully add the shrimp to the skillet. Stir well to ensure they are evenly coated. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until they are pink and opaque.
  • Add lemon juice to brighten the flavors and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish.
  • Serve immediately, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the shrimp.

Notes

Use fresh shrimp for best flavor. Don't overcook the shrimp, cook just 3-5 minutes. For a creamy version, stir in a splash of heavy cream. For added freshness, don't skip the parsley.
