Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top appears crinkly and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Dust the cooled bars with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure your butter is melted but not hot to avoid cooking the eggs. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for added variety.
