  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for crumble)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for crumble)
  • ½ cup oats (for crumble)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Prepare the crumble topping by mixing brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and scatter the crumble on top.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Don't skip the cooling process; it helps the loaf set properly. Double the batch and freeze one for cravings!
