Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups

Ingredients

Smoothie

  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 1 cup brewed coffee cooled
  • 1/2 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • sweetener optional, to taste

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients. Use a ripe, freckled banana for the best sweetness and texture.
  • Brew a cup of coffee and allow it to cool completely.
  • Add the banana, cooled coffee, milk, vanilla extract, and ice cubes to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Taste and add sweetener if desired, then blend again briefly.
  • Pour into a glass and serve immediately. Garnish with cinnamon, whipped cream, banana slices, or chocolate syrup if desired.

Notes

Use frozen bananas for an extra creamy texture. Cold brew coffee provides a smoother flavor. Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 day or frozen in ice cube trays and re-blended later. Try adding cocoa powder, cardamom, nutmeg, protein powder, spinach, or oats for delicious variations.
