Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Lucky Charms cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the Lucky Charms cereal and chocolate chips if you’re using them.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scoop for the cookies to spread.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are soft.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Measure your flour correctly by spooning it into the measuring cup and leveling it off. For perfectly round cookies, shape the dough into balls in your hands before placing them on the baking sheet. Let your dough rest for 30 minutes before baking for improved texture and flavor. Store baked cookies in an airtight container.
