Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 medium cucumbers (preferably Kirby or pickling cucumbers), sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns

Instructions
 

  • Wash cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them into even rounds or spears.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, white vinegar, sugar, salt, dill seeds, garlic cloves, and black peppercorns. Heat over medium heat, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a gentle boil for about a minute.
  • Remove the brine from heat and let it cool for 15-20 minutes.
  • Place the sliced cucumbers into a clean, sterilized jar. Pour the brine over cucumbers, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  • Seal the jar tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for better flavor.

Notes

For maximum crunch, choose fresh, firm cucumbers. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours for best results.
