  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamo
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup apple, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Slowly add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples.
  • Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each scoop.
  • Drizzle each cookie mound with a small amount of caramel sauce.
  • Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie after slightly cooling.
  • Let them cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. You can freeze the dough for up to three months.
