Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a mixing bowl and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add the eggs one at a time and mix after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Fold in sliced strawberries.
  • Spread the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set but the center has a slight jiggle.
  • Let the bars cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Don't overmix the brownie batter. Chill bars before cutting for clean edges.
