Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Start by cleaning the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, fresh black pepper, garlic powder, salt, chili flakes, and lemon juice. Whisk everything until well blended.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add the marinated chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken and let it rest. In the same skillet, pour the remaining marinade and bring to a gentle simmer, scraping any browned bits.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the thickened sauce, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Slice the chicken, serve warm, and drizzle with any remaining glaze.

Notes

Marinate the chicken a day ahead for better flavor development. Ensure the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) for doneness.
