Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of chicken breasts (6-8 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme, optional)

Instructions

  • Slice the chicken breasts in half horizontally if they are thick.
  • Pound the chicken to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch, using a meat mallet.
  • Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a medium bowl.
  • Marinate the chicken breasts in the mixture for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat and grease if necessary.
  • Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Ensure even pounding for uniform cooking. Let the chicken rest after cooking to retain juices. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
